It’s true; quality, custom metal fabrication solves problems and improves lives.

Here’s the situation….

Good friends of mine are huge Cleveland Browns fans (although that’s sad, that’s not the problem). They enjoy having friends over to play their bean bag toss game (aka: Cornhole).

Here’s the problem…

While playing Cornhole, the participants need a stable spot to hold drinks…

Often their cocktails are knocked over by their dog…

They knock over drinks themselves due to an errant bean bag toss, or laughing fit.

After the consumption of said cocktails, scorekeeping (and sometimes standing) becomes a challenge.

Here’s the solution…

Custom made stainless steel Cornhole scoreboards and beverage holders!

We’re so happy to provide the metal fabricated solution! This sturdy, weather and spilled drink resistant custom made stainless steel Cornhole beverage holder and scorekeeper will address and resolve all of their problems (can’t help that they are Browns fans).

All they need now is better weather (and a better football team).

Serious Metal Fabrication

While we do like to enjoy ourselves here at Sunset Metal Fab Inc., we realize that there is a time and place for it.

Occasionally we’re contracted by a Windsor, Ontario elevator company for custom metal fabrication, and that’s when put the fun aside and get serious.

Why? Because it’s about precision and safety.

A crane was hired to lift various elevator parts (3 machines, rope brakes, controllers, etc.) 20 storeys, and remove the old elevator equipment. Here the crane lifts a new elevator machine.

Here the old machine is being lifted from the floor on the the platform we created. The floor was about 18 inches below the doorway, so they needed a platform to get the machine out the door.

Here the new machine is being placed by the crane onto the metal platform.

Now the elevator machine is being moved off the platform, into place via the gantry I created as contracted by the elevator company. It can support 10,000 lbs, and the elevator machine weighed 2,700 lbs.

That’s when metal fabrication is serious. I’d like to thank Riverside Elevator for the opportunity to work with them.

Custom Metal Fab – Bar Edition

Here are a couple of pictures of work I completed a year or so ago at Sutton Creek Golf Club, just outside Windsor, Ontario.

We polished the bar top and the front of the fridge doors to give it depth and a unique look. I also created the ’19th hole’ sign to add a little fun behind the bar.

This is a custom made wine rack which sits on the bar near the wall at Sutton Creek.

It’s really a beautiful bar with a great atmosphere. It’s been a pleasure working with the Hearn family!

Custom Metal Fabrication – How It’s Done

So you take some sheet metal and some flatbar…

You take some square tubing and some angle iron…

Now it’s a bench and partition all polished up and pretty. (Getting closer…)

Add it all up, and this is what you get…

Cool custom seating and handrails for The Wurst Bar in Ypsi Michigan were recently installed!

And that’s how custom metal fabrication is dunn.

Custom Made Fire Table – Done and Delivered!

April 17, 2013

This past week-end I completed and delivered my most recent fire table, and I had the privilege of attending a party hosted by my customers.

It was wonderful for me to hear so many positive comments about this custom fire table. People loved the lava rock centre, the built in stainless steel coolers (which held 100 cans of beer – plus ice!), the beautiful Ipe ironwood used in its construction, and it being a chilly week-end, everyone appreciated the warmth of the fire!

It was a pleasure working with the Gradys on the construction of this table.

Fire Table – A Work in Progress

I’m currently in the process of making a fire table for some awesome people I know in the Windsor, Ontario area.

All our fire tables are completely custom made to order, and I’m certain that this one is going to turn out great.

These ‘awesome people’ are really looking forward to its completion and having friends over to their backyard for cocktails around their new table once the weather warms up a bit.

Then again, who needs warm weather to sit outside? It’s a firetable!

Have you ever found something that you didn’t realize you lost? I recently ‘found’ my digital camera. I never missed the missing camera, as I now have one of those new fangled smart phones and I use that to take pictures now.

It was fun looking back at some of the work I’ve done over the years.
