Copper Bar Top – The Distressing Process

Installing a copper bar top recently was one of the most challenging jobs we’ve ever done. It’s quite labour intensive, total focus, patience and precision are absolute musts.

As mentioned previously, the copper bar top turned out great, but that ultimately was not the look desired by this job. It was to be distressed.

This is picture preparing the existing top for the copper –

We then prepared the bar top for the distressing process… The distressing process involves spreading sea salt and warm white vinegar liberally. After 20 minutes generously apply Coke or Pepsi to the bar top. That’s it – seriously!

Here’s the finished result –

We’re very happy with how these copper bar tops turned out – it really is a focal point of this bar!

Until next time,

Shea
